Regular Season Round 9: Los Mochis - Mazatlan 103-105

A very close game took place in Los Mochis between Lobos UAD Mazatlan and Pioneros Los Mochis. Ninth ranked Lobos UAD Mazatlan (3-6) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked Pioneros Los Mochis (2-7). Lobos UAD Mazatlan managed to escape with a 2-point win 105-103 in the game for the eighth place. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lobos UAD Mazatlan made 7 blocks. American forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Luke Moyer (185-93, college: John Brown) accounted for 36 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Nigerian-American center Olaniyi Akingkube (208, college: N.Carolina A&T) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and American swingman DeAndre Hall (198, college: Texas Southern) added 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Pioneros Los Mochis in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lobos UAD Mazatlan moved-up to eighth place. Pioneros Los Mochis lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pioneros Los Mochis will play again against Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
