Regular Season Round 31: Alcobendas - Lanzarote 93-96

There was an upset when higher ranked Alcobendas (15-13) was edged at home by fourteenth ranked Lanzarote (9-19) 96-93 on Saturday. Lanzarote made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Victor Bermudez (193, college: Texas St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. His fellow American import forward Jarad Scott (203-95, college: Union, TN) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Five Lanzarote players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jorge Parra (-98) responded with 23 points and guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) scored 18 points (made all of his eight free throws). Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Lanzarote moved-up to thirteenth place in Group B, which they share with Casvi. Loser Alcobendas keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Lanzarote will face Teguise (#16) on the road in the next round.
