Regular Season Round 31: Vic - Palma II 89-71

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Palma II (16-9) was defeated on the road by first ranked Vic (21-4) 89-71 on Saturday. Vic dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Palma II's 24. They outrebounded Palma II 39-24 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Marc Rabaseda (182-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) helped adding 22 points. At the losing side center Carlos Bustamante (201-88) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Antonio Teijido (198) scored 13 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Vic. Newly promoted Vic maintains first place in Group C-B with 21-4 record. Loser Palma II keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Vic will face Cornella (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Palma II will play against Andorra II and hope to win that game.
