Regular Season Round 7: Bulleen B. - Waverley F. 67-75

Everything went according to plan in Bulleen where fourth ranked Falcons (4-1) beat bottom-ranked Boomers (0-6) 75-67 on Saturday. Falcons forced 23 Boomers turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Kelly Bowen (182-89, college: Gonzaga) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Tenaya Phillips (178-94) helped adding 20 points. Falcons' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Jasmine Hines (192-93, college: Michigan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. Falcons moved-up to third place in League. Loser Boomers still closes the standings with six games lost. Falcons will face league's second-placed Sharks in Dromana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boomers will play at home against the league's leader Knox Raiders (#1) and hope to get finally their first victory.
