Regular Season Round 31: Castellbisbal - Cornella 72-78

Very expected game when 11th ranked Castellbisbal (8-17) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Cornella (14-11) 78-72 on Saturday. Cornella outrebounded Castellbisbal 47-36 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Alexandre Sanmartin (202-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 24 rebounds. Naturalized Andorra guard Roger Lliteras (195-96) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side forward Marc Manes (196-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Adria Camprubi (193-87) scored 13 points. Five Cornella and four Castellbisbal players scored in double figures. Castellbisbal's coach tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Cornella moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Mollet. Loser Castellbisbal keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Cornella will face league's leader Vic at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Castellbisbal will play against Salt (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
