Regular Season Round 31: Girona Basquet - Tarragona 82-59

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Girona Basquet (17-8) outscored at home 6th ranked Tarragona (13-11) 82-59 on Saturday. Girona Basquet looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for guard Guillem Pascua (186-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. David Cuellar (192-97) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Daniel Tugores (185-95) responded with 15 points and American forward Michael Balkovic (198-93, college: Caldwell, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Girona Basquet maintains third place in Group C-A with 17-8 record having four points less than leader Vic. Loser Tarragona keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. Girona Basquet will face Quart (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarragona will play against Arenys (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
