The game in Athens supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Apollon Patras (19-9) played at the court of 7th ranked Amyntas Dafnis (14-14). Apollon Patras smashed Amyntas Dafnis 88-67. The game without a history. Apollon Patras led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Apollon Patras outrebounded Amyntas Dafnis 39-27 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Apollon Patras especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Sarandis Mastrogiannopoulos (194-98) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Alex Acker (196-83, college: Pepperdine) who added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Andriano Topalis (201-87) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Apollon Patras maintains fourth position with 19-9 record. Amyntas Dafnis lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Ermis Agias. Apollon Patras will play against Psychiko (#10) in Athens in the next round where they are favorite. Amyntas Dafnis will play on the road against Kastoria and hopes to get back on the winning track.
