Regular Season Round 10: Navolato - Hermosillo 95-82

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (5-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Garra Canera de Navolato (6-3) 95-82 on Saturday. Garra Canera de Navolato made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American forward Brandon Swannegan (206-93, college: Tulsa) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Rick Bodiford (193-87, college: Z*Orangeville A's) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Garra Canera de Navolato players scored in double figures. Garra Canera de Navolato's coach Andres Contreras used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international point guard Steve Monreal (180-86, college: CS Monterey) responded with 16 points and 7 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and American guard Tyshawn Abbott (192-88, college: Arizona St.) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Garra Canera de Navolato moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Rayos de Hermosillo lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Guasave. Garra Canera de Navolato is looking forward to face Lobos UAD Mazatlan (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rayos de Hermosillo will play against Pioneros Los Mochis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
