Regular Season Round 7: Keilor T. - Knox R. 81-85

There was no surprise in Melbourne where 5th ranked Thunder (2-3) was defeated by first ranked Knox Raiders (6-1) 85-81 on Saturday. Knox Raiders outrebounded Thunder 41-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for New Zealand guard Rebecca Ott (182-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 29 points. Forward Lucy Dawson (181-91) helped adding 7 points and 15 rebounds. Knox Raiders' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American swingman Amy Smith (178, college: Lewis) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and Briana Babic scored 20 points and 4 assists. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. Knox Raiders maintains first place in League with 6-1 record. Newly promoted Thunder dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Knox Raiders will face Boomers (#11) in Bulleen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Thunder will play on the road against Jets (#7) in Sunbury and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
