Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo HT (#1) and Tokyo Cinq R. (#6). Tokyo Cinq R. was crushed at home by 33 points 62-95 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Cinq R.'s 26. They outrebounded Tokyo Cinq R. 49-30 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Edward Morris (204-84, college: Pittsburg St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Tokyo HT. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Tokyo Cinq R. lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Tokyo HT will meet Kagoshima (#4) in the next round. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Saitama Broncos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
