Regular Season Round 12: San Pedro T. - Belize City D. 71-68

Third-ranked Defenders (6-4) made lots of trouble for first ranked Tigersharks (10-2) in San Pedro on Saturday. Tigersharks managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected easier game. Tigersharks outrebounded Defenders 63-32 including a 28-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Martevuius Adams who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 23 rebounds. American guard Jihad Wright (193, college: UNC Pembroke) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international point guard Ty Bradley (183-85) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tigersharks maintains first position with 10-2 record. Newly promoted Defenders dropped to the fourth place with four games lost. Tigersharks are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Running Rebels (#7) in Belize City in the next round where they are favorite. Defenders will have a break next round.
