Regular Season Round 55: Fukushima - Tokyo Z 87-74

Very expected game when 6th ranked Tokyo Z (20-34) lost on the road to second ranked Fukushima (32-20) 87-74 on Saturday. Fukushima made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Tokyo Z was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import forward Cinmeon Bowers (201-93, college: Auburn) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Z. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Fukushima. They maintain second place with 32-20 record behind leader Akita NH. Tokyo Z lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with 34 games lost. Fukushima will face again Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round.
