Regular Season Round 31: Chantada - Rosalia 79-60

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Chantada (20-9) outscored at home 12th ranked Rosalia (11-18) 79-60 on Saturday. Chantada dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Rosalia's 22. They outrebounded Rosalia 47-21 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American swingman Charles Knowles (196-93, college: William Penn) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) helped adding 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Chantada players scored in double figures. At the losing side Luis Lopez (189-96) responded with 16 points and power forward Santiago Lorenzo (203-88) scored 5 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chantada maintains third place in Group A-B with 20-9 record behind leader Vic. Loser Rosalia keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Chantada will face Innova Chef (#8) in Zamora in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rosalia will play at home against Culleredo (#15) and hope to win that game.
