The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Buccaneers as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Buccaneers smashed 8th ranked Lightning in Wonthella 101-75. Buccaneers forced 19 Lightning turnovers. Strangely Lightning outrebounded Buccaneers 49-34 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Colter Lasher (201-94, college: Houston Baptist, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Gokul Natesan (196-94, college: Colorado Mines, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. Center Jarrad Prue (198-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 20 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and American guard John Isenbarger (188-91, college: Elon) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lightning. Five Buccaneers and four Lightning players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Lightning at the other side dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. Lightning will play next round against Eagles trying to get back on the winning streak. Buccaneers will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Magic in Mandurah.
