Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Devils (2-5) were edged by seventh ranked Magic (3-2) in Werribee 87-84 on Saturday. Strangely Devils outrebounded Magic 32-17 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Magic especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Quite impressive performance for American guard Nelson Kirksey (190-89, college: UMKC) who helped to win the game recording 25 points. Forward Alex Bogart-King (200) contributed with 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Deng Chan answered with 27 points and American forward Bryan Nagy (201, college: Carroll, WI) added 19 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Devils. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Magic moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Devils dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Magic will face Keilor T. (#9) in Melbourne in the next round. Devils will play at home against McKinnon C. and hope to win that game.
