Regular Season Round 34: Rustavi - Sokhumi 108-73

There was no surprise in Rustavi where 9th ranked Sokhumi (1-29) was crushed by fourth ranked Energy Invest (19-11) 108-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Energy Invest led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Energy Invest forced 19 Sokhumi turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Sokhumi's players. American guard Brian Bernardi (188-94, college: Hofstra, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 17 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Levan Tsekvava (190-89) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Coach Mikheil Beruashvili's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Ukrainian swingman Sergii Pryimak (204-96, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Maizer Revazashvili (208-96) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Five Sokhumi players scored in double figures. Energy Invest moved-up to third place, which they share with Dinamo Tbilisi. Sokhumi lost twenty seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. Energy Invest will meet at home Mgzavrebi (#7) in the next round. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tbilisi Cactus Tbilisi.
