Regular Season Round 7: Bankstown B. - Sutherland S. 50-73

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Sutherland Sharks (2-3) rolled over bottom-ranked Bankstown Bruins (0-7) in Condell Park 73-50 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for American guard Jeff Van Dyke (188-95, college: Cal-San Diego) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Clayton Carfino contributed with 9 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Croatian forward Alexandar Opacic (208-86, college: Furman, agency: Dynamics Global Management) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and forward Dalibor Nonkovic (198, college: Canyons) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Bankstown Bruins. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Sutherland Sharks maintains eighth place in League with 2-3 record. Loser Bankstown Bruins still closes the standings with seven games lost. Sutherland Sharks will face higher ranked Crusaders (#5) in Terrigal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
