Regular Season Round 7: Knox R. - Ringwood H. 76-91

An interesting game for Ringwood Hawks (5-1) which played road game in Wantirna South against 4th placed Knox Raiders (3-3). First ranked Ringwood Hawks had an easy win 91-76. Ringwood Hawks outrebounded Knox Raiders 46-34 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Jacob Gibson (198-93, college: Harding) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Matthew Fennell contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Liam Carroll (192-90) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Christopher Kaba (203-88, college: N.Colorado) added 17 points in the effort for Knox Raiders. Five Ringwood Hawks and four Knox Raiders players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Ringwood Hawks maintains first place in League with 5-1 record. Loser Knox Raiders dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Ringwood Hawks will face Blackburn V. (#10) in Melbourne in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Knox Raiders will play on the road against Keilor T. in Melbourne and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
