Regular Season Round 29: Faenza - Savonese 64-48

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Savonese's (10-17) road loss to ninth ranked Faenza (14-13) 48-64 on Saturday. Faenza forced 19 Savonese turnovers. The former international forward Simona Ballardini (181-81) stepped up and scored 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners and point guard Federica Franceschelli (180-97) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and guard Elisabetta Penz (172-96) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Faenza moved-up to eighth place in A2. Savonese at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Faenza will face Cagliari V. (#14) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Savonese will play against Umbertide and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
