Regular Season Round 31: Barbera - Roser 71-77

There was a minor upset in Barcelona where 10th ranked Barbera (9-15) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Roser (7-18) 77-71 on Saturday. Strangely Barbera outrebounded Roser 35-23 including a 25-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Xavier Assalit (187-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points. Albert Sulleva helped adding 11 points. Roser's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and power forward David Martinez (203-96) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Newly promoted Roser maintains thirteenth place in Group C-A with 7-18 record. Loser Barbera stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Roser will face higher ranked Sant Josep (#8) in Badalona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
