Regular Season Round 26: Ironi Nes-Ziona - Ironi Nahariya 70-71
Date: April 22, 2018
A very interesting game took place in Nes Ziyona. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (10-16) to eleventh ranked Ironi Nahariya (9-16) 71-70 on Sunday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-15. But Ironi Nes-Ziona won second period 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ron Sport) notched 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) supported him with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 8 rebounds by naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (198-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nes-Ziona. American swingman Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) added 19 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Ironi Nes-Ziona's coach Nadav Zilberstein rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ironi Nahariya maintains eleventh position with 9-16 record. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona dropped to the eighth place with 16 games lost. Ironi Nahariya's next round opponent will be higher ranked Galil Gilboa (#6) in Rosh Pina and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
