Important game to mention about took place in Greensborough. Sixth ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-4) saved a 2-point victory at home edging leader Rangers (4-2) 79-77 on Sunday evening. Diamond Valley Eagles forced 24 Rangers turnovers. Strangely Rangers outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 47-23 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for New Zealand swingman Chevannah Paalvast (180-91, college: Monmouth) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Abigail Wehrung (177-95) helped adding 17 points. At the losing side power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 24 rebounds and power forward Kiera Rowe (183-99) scored 17 points. Five Rangers players scored in double figures. Diamond Valley Eagles moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Rangers still keep top position with two games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will face higher ranked Tigers (#3) in Melbourne in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rangers will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lady Cobras in Kilsyth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
