Regular Season Round 27: VL Pesaro - MIA-RO Cantu 82-91

Date: April 22, 2018
Very predictable result when ninth ranked MIA-RO Cantu (14-13) beat on the road bottom-ranked VL Pesaro (6-21) 91-82. MIA-RO Cantu made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Thomas Jefferson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American swingman Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. MIA-RO Cantu's coach Marco Sodini used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) came up with 29 points and naturalized Argentinian Pablo Bertone (193-90, college: Florida Atlantic, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for VL Pesaro in the defeat. Five MIA-RO Cantu and four VL Pesaro players scored in double figures. MIA-RO Cantu moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Openjobmetis V. and Virtus Bologna. VL Pesaro at the other side stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. MIA-RO Cantu's next round opponent will be Grissin Bon RE (#12) in Reggio Emilia which should be theoretically an easy game. VL Pesaro will play on the road against the league's second-placed Armani Milano (#2) and hope to win that game.
