No shocking result in a game when second ranked Fukushima (33-20) beat at home 6th ranked Tokyo Z (20-35) 90-77 on Sunday. Fukushima made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game, while Tokyo Z only scored seven points from the stripe. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Tokyo Z was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Shinya Murakami (172-91) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Fukushima players scored in double figures. American center Luke Evans (203-91, college: Cal.Baptist) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Cinmeon Bowers (201-93, college: Auburn) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Z. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 33-20 record behind leader Akita NH. Tokyo Z lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth place with 35 games lost. Fukushima will face Sendai 89ers (#4) on the road in the next round. Tokyo Z will play against Shinshu BW and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
