Very important is a home loss of third ranked Yamagata (25-30) against fourth ranked Dragonflies (30-25) on Sunday night. Host Yamagata unexpectedly was defeated by in Yamagata 78-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Yamagata. Dragonflies made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and the former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) who added 24 points during the contest. Five Dragonflies players scored in double figures. American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Billy McShepard (208-87, college: Valdosta St., agency: Blacktop Management) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Yamagata's coach Joe Cook rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Dragonflies moved-up to third place, which they share with Ehime OV. Yamagata at the other side keeps the third position with 30 games lost. Dragonflies will play against Kanazawa Sam. (#4) in Ishikawa in the next round. Yamagata will play on the road against the league's leader Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
