Regular Season Round 27: Germani BR - EA7 Armani 88-85

Round 27 in Serie A means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Brescia where host Germani BR (19-8) edged league's leader Armani Milano (21-6) 88-85 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Armani Milano. Germani BR made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. International point guard Luca Vitali (201-86) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) who recorded 22 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Andrea Cinciarini (193-86) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Germani BR maintains third place with 19-8 record having just two points less than leader Umana VE. Armani Milano at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Umana VE who have the same record. Armani Milano will play next round against VL Pesaro trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Germani BR will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Vanoli Cremona on the road.
