Regular Season Round 30: Latina Basket - Virtus Roma 87-54

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Virtus Roma (10-19) was crushed on the road by eleventh ranked Latina Basket (14-16) 87-54 on Sunday. Latina Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Virtus Roma's 34 and made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Virtus Roma 41-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Benjamin Raymond (198-87, college: Xavier) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). The former international power forward Giovanni Allodi (206-94, agency: Two Points) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. Latina Basket's coach Franco Gramenzi felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Aaron Thomas (196-91, college: Florida St.) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Massimo Chessa (188-88) added 12 points respectively. Latina Basket moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Virtus Roma keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost.
