Very predictable result when eighth ranked UCAM Murcia (16-13) defeated at home 15th ranked Zaragoza (8-21) 84-73 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. UCAM Murcia outrebounded Zaragoza 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. American-Dominican swingman Sadiel Rojas (197-89, college: Okla.Wesleyan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Gary Neal (193-84, college: Towson) responded with 31 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international center Xavier Rey (210-87) scored 8 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. UCAM Murcia maintains eighth place with 16-13 record. Zaragoza lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. UCAM Murcia will face league's second-placed Baskonia in Vitoria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaragoza will play at home against Real Betis (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
