Everything went according to plan when third ranked Dandenong Rangers (3-2) defeated 6th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (1-4) in Greensborough 83-74 on Sunday. Diamond Valley Eagles were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for the former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-92, college: Boise St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Lucas Barker (183-93, college: Indianapolis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Mike Best (208-93, college: Cal-Irvine) added 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Diamond Valley Eagles. Dandenong Rangers keep a position of League leader. Loser Diamond Valley Eagles keep the sixth place with four games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face Kilsyth Cobras (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Diamond Valley Eagles will play against Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
