Very predictable result when second ranked Piacenza (21-9) smashed on the road 14th ranked Lugo (10-20) 85-66 on Sunday. Piacenza dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Lugo's 32. Naturalized Argentinian forward Duilio Birindelli (200-84) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Riccardo Pederzini (200-89, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Michele Rubbini (185-99) with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese center Koite Thiam-Iba (205-98) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Lugo's coach Gianluigi Galetti rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Piacenza maintains second position in B with 21-9 record having five points less than leader San Severo. Newly promoted Lugo keeps the fourteenth place with 20 games lost.
