Regular Season Round 56: Fukuoka Rizing - Kumamoto V. 94-92

Second-ranked Kumamoto V. (37-18) was very close to win a game against first ranked Fukuoka Rizing (45-10) on Sunday. Fukuoka Rizing managed to secure only two-point victory 94-92. However their fans expected easier game. Fukuoka Rizing looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) contributed with 25 points and 5 assists for the winners. Fukuoka Rizing's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) added 26 points and 5 assists in the effort for Kumamoto V.Fukuoka Rizing have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains first position with 45-10 record. Kumamoto V. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the second place with 18 games lost. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama in the next round. Kumamoto V. will play on the road against Bambitious Nara and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
