Regular Season Round 30: Salerno - Palestrina 82-80

There was a change at the Serie B leadership position after last games. Round 30 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Palestrina (23-6). They were edged by fourth ranked Salerno (22-8) 82-80 on Sunday night. Salerno made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. Salerno outrebounded Palestrina 35-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. 32 personal fouls committed by Palestrina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Gianmarco Leggio (202-94) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Alessandro Paesano (203-93) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Filippo Alessandri (190-89) scored 18 points. Four Palestrina players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Salerno maintains fourth position in B with 22-8 record. Palestrina at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Severo.
