We should mention about the upset which took place in Hod Hasharon, where higher ranked Hapoel Eilat (13-13) lost to eleventh ranked Bnei Hasharon (10-16) in a road game 73-78 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-73. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Shawn Dawson (198-93) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Loser Hapoel Eilat dropped to the seventh position with 13 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will face Ironi Nahariya (#11) on the road in the next round.
