There was no surprise when 11th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (14-16) was defeated at home by second ranked Le Mans (20-10) 76-68 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 28-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Le Mans made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American-FYR Macedonian Romeo Travis (198-84, college: Akron) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. American Mykal Riley (196-85, college: Alabama) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Le Mans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Chris Johnson (198-90, college: Dayton) who recorded 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Belgian guard Quentin Serron (190-90) added 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Le Mans maintains second position with 20-10 record having just three points less than leader Monaco, which they share with Strasbourg. Loser Gravelines-Dunkerque keeps the eleventh place with 16 games lost. Le Mans will face Boulazac Basket (#17) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#4) and hope to win that game.
