Regular Season Round 30: Boulazac - Nanterre 83-71
Date: April 24, 2018
An interesting game took place in Boulazac, where higher ranked JSF Nanterre (16-14) lost to seventeenth ranked Boulazac Basket (9-20) in a road game 71-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JSF Nanterre. The game was mostly controlled by Boulazac Basket. JSF Nanterre was better in third quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded JSF Nanterre 36-18 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Brandon Ubel (208-91, college: Nebraska, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 11 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern) supported him with 15 points. Even 11 points by international Hugo Invernizzi (198-93, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for JSF Nanterre. German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) added 12 points. Five Boulazac Basket and four JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Boulazac Basket maintains seventeenth position with 9-20 record. JSF Nanterre at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. Boulazac Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Le Mans on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
