Regular Season Round 11: Tijuana - Obregon 95-80

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tijuana Zonkeys as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tijuana Zonkeys defeated 10th ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon at home 95-80. It was a great shooting night for Tijuana Zonkeys especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Mychal Ammons (198-92, college: S.Alabama) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American forward Landon Atterberry (198-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Taylor Brown (200-89, college: Bradley) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Tijuana Zonkeys and four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tijuana Zonkeys have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon lost fifth consecutive game. Defending champion stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Tijuana Zonkeys will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon at home.
