There was an upset when higher ranked UCAM Murcia (16-15) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Joventut (10-20) 92-75 on Wednesday. Joventut made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. UCAM Murcia was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Argentinian guard Nicolas Laprovittola (190-90) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Swedish power forward Simon Birgander (210-97, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. American-Senegalese point guard Clevin Hannah (179-87, college: Wichita St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists and British Ovie Soko (201-91, college: Duquesne) added 21 points in the effort for UCAM Murcia. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Joventut. They maintain fifteenth place with 10-20 record. Loser UCAM Murcia dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. Joventut will face higher ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#10) in Madrid in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
