Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Cairns Marlins (2-0) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Toowoomba Mountaineers (0-1) 90-64 on Friday. Cairns Marlins made 26-of-29 free shots (89.7 percent) during the game, while Toowoomba Mountaineers only scored one point from the stripe. They outrebounded Toowoomba Mountaineers 61-41 including a 44-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Toowoomba Mountaineers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch.
