Regular Season Round 30: Aix-Maurienne - Vichy Clermont 86-83

A very interesting game took place in Aix-les-Bains. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked JA Vichy (13-17) to twelfth ranked Aix-Maurienne (13-17) 86-83 in the game for the eleventh place. JA Vichy was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Aix-Maurienne players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for naturalized Algerian Karim Atamna (196-80) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 4 assists. American power forward Curtis Kelly (208-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Gregory Lessort (197-85) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for JA Vichy. Four Aix-Maurienne and five JA Vichy players scored in double figures. JA Vichy's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Vichy Clermont. JA Vichy lost fourth consecutive game. Aix-Maurienne's next round opponent will be league's leader ADA Blois on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
