Third-ranked Contern (11-20) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Arantia (25-6) in Luxembourg on Saturday. The visitors from Larochette managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Ladarius Tabb (196, college: Alabama A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Xavier Pollard (193-91, college: Kent St.) contributed with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Juwan Howard Jr. (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy) answered with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Rene Wolzfeld (194-91) added 18 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Contern. Four Contern players scored in double figures. Contern's coach Franck Meriguet rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Arantia maintains first place with 25-6 record. Contern lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 20 games lost. Arantia are looking forward to face BC Mess (#3) in Mondercange in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Contern will play on the road against Heffingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
