Regular Season Round 8: Kalamunda E.S. - Stirling S. 108-73

Date: April 28, 2018
There was an upset in Kalamunda where higher ranked Stirling S. (6-3) was outplayed by tenth ranked Suns (4-6) 108-73 on Saturday. Suns forced 22 Stirling S. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Stirling S. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kerrod Horn (187-93) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds and American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) who added 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Nigerian-American forward Robert Anshila (199-86, college: Ft.Hays State) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Cody Ellis (202-90, college: St.Louis) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Suns moved-up to ninth place in League. Loser Stirling S. keeps the third position with three games lost. Suns will face Cougars (#11) in Hamilton Hill in the next round. Stirling S. will play at home against the league's second-placed Buccaneers (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
