Regular Season Round 57: Hiroshima D. - Kanazawa Sam. 92-90

Fourth-ranked Kanazawa Sam. (25-31) gave a tough game to third ranked Dragonflies (32-25) in Hiroshima. Dragonflies managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected easier game. Dragonflies made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) accounted for 13 points and 9 rebounds. Dragonflies' coach Jamie Andrisevic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocks respectively for Kanazawa Sam. in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Dragonflies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 32-25 record having four points less than leader Akita NH. Kanazawa Sam. lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifth position with 31 games lost. Dragonflies will again play against Kanazawa Sam. (#5) in Ishikawa in the next round. Kanazawa Sam. will have a break next round.
