There was a surprise result in Malaga where sixth ranked San Juan (12-15) beat top-ranked Novaschool (15-12) 68-64 on Saturday. San Juan made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Antonio Rodriguez (185-78) who scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Samuel Ceada (198-91) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. David Garcia produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Alex Jackson (200-84, college: Mo.-St.Louis) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Novaschool's coach Javier Florido tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. San Juan moved-up to third place in Group D-Permam, which they share with Coin and Utrera. Loser Novaschool still keeps top position with 12 games lost. San Juan will face Multiopticas Baza (#7) in Alicante in the next round. Novaschool will play on the road against San Fernando (#8) and hope to win that game.
