Regular Season Round 57: Toyotsu FE - Iwate Big Bulls 97-67

Very expected game in Nagoya where 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (7-50) were crushed by first ranked Toyotsu FE (36-21) 97-67 on Saturday. Toyotsu FE made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Toyotsu FE outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 39-27 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Toyotsu FE looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import center Garrett Stutz (214-90, college: Wichita St.) chipped in 9 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Nishi Yutaro (176-92) with 11 points and guard Yuki Suzuki (185-91) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toyotsu FE have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 36-21 record. Iwate Big Bulls lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 50 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
