Regular Season Round 31: Antibes - Bourg 77-75

A very close game took place in Antibes between Olympique Antibes and JL Bourg. Sixteenth ranked Olympique Antibes (12-19) got a very close home victory over higher ranked JL Bourg (16-14). Olympique Antibes managed to escape with a 2-point win 77-75 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. JL Bourg was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of Olympique Antibes, which allowed them to win the game. Olympique Antibes outrebounded JL Bourg 31-19 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (204-90, college: Villanova) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American guard Vincent Sanford (193-90, college: Dayton, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 23 points for the winning side. American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Joseph Lewis (188-92, college: Louisville) added 16 points respectively for JL Bourg in the defeat. Five JL Bourg players scored in double figures. JL Bourg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Olympique Antibes moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Cholet. Newly promoted JL Bourg dropped to the eighth position with 14 games lost. Olympique Antibes will meet higher ranked SIG Strasbourg (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JL Bourg will play against Cholet Basket (#15) and hope to secure a win.
