There was no surprise when 15th ranked Cholet Basket (12-19) lost on the road to ninth ranked JSF Nanterre (17-14) 77-73 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 47-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. JSF Nanterre made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for international Lahaou Konate (196-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. German point guard Heiko Schaffartzik (183-84) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Four JSF Nanterre players scored in double figures. American forward Ryan Evans (202-90, college: Wisconsin) came up with 12 points and international point guard Jonathan Rousselle (188-90) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Cholet Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. JSF Nanterre moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Limoges. Loser Cholet Basket keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Antibes. JSF Nanterre will meet Gravelines-Dunkerque (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cholet Basket will play against JL Bourg and hope to secure a win.
