Rather predictable result in East Burwood where top-ranked Spectres (5-0) defeated 3rd ranked Bandits (3-3) 73-67 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Dain Swetalla (206-86, college: Augustana, IL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Sam McDonald (-84) who added 14 points and 10 assists during the contest. Four Spectres players scored in double figures. Spectres' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Tevin Jackson (202-94, college: McNeese St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Lamar Mallory (201-90, college: Glenville St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Spectres maintains first position in League with 5-0 record. Loser Bandits dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Spectres will face Dandenong Rangers (#4) at home in the next round. Bandits will play against the league's second-placed Ballarat Miners and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
