There was a minor upset in Seaford where bottom-ranked Canberra Gunners (0-4) were outplayed by eighth ranked Frankston Blues (1-5) 98-74 on Saturday. Frankston Blues made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Frankston Blues especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American swingman Bennie Lewis (203-87, college: Benedict) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 rebounds and American Sam Muldrow (206-88, college: S.Carolina) who added 26 points during the contest. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Guard Daniel Joyce (194-87) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Frankston Blues maintains eighth position in League with 1-5 record which they share with defeated Canberra Gunners. Loser Canberra Gunners still closes the standings with four games lost. Frankston Blues will face higher ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (#6) in Mt Gambier in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
