Regular Season Round 30: Quimper - Roanne 68-80

Very expected game when 17th ranked Quimper UJAP (8-22) was defeated at home by third ranked Chorale de Roanne (23-7) 80-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 42-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Chorale de Roanne made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Chorale de Roanne especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Quimper UJAP was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American David Jackson (195-86, college: W.Illinois) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and guard Mathis Keita (192-92, college: Indiana, PA) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American-Nigerian power forward Efe Odigie (203) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Kevin Mondesir (204-91) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Chorale de Roanne maintains third position with 23-7 record behind leader Blois. Quimper UJAP lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth place with 22 games lost. Chorale de Roanne will face league's second-placed Entente Orleans 45 at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Quimper UJAP will play against Charleville-Mezieres (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
