A very interesting game took place in Terrigal. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Crusaders (3-4) to top-ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (7-0) 76-74 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles forced 21 Crusaders turnovers. Strangely Crusaders outrebounded Manly Warringah Sea Eagles 44-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Crusaders helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Steven White (182-90, college: Alaska-Anch.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 rebounds. Kyle Painter contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Mitchell Rueter (198, college: Cent.Arkansas) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Callum Jenkins added 18 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in the effort for Crusaders. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles maintains first position in League with 7-0 record. Crusaders at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' next round opponent will be Sydney City Comets (#6) in Alexandria where they are favorite. Crusaders will play on the road against Newcastle Hunters in Broadmeadow and hope to win that game.
